While we are indeed called a soup kitchen, almost all of the meals are full course dinner servings that typically include a meat, vegetable(s), salad, bread, dessert, and a drink such as ice tea, coffee, or lemonade. The meals vary by day based upon the food available to cook.
Cooks plan and prepare nutritious meals using food and funds donated to the Soup Kitchen. Sometimes we serve soup but more often the meal shown to the left is typical of the meals.
Occasionally, we may have sufficient food to provide a "take home" dinner after we have served all those who have come to the soup kitchen that day to eat. In many cases, the take home meal will be eaten that evening.
